The short answer is yes. The long answer is …yes. How do I know this, you ask? All right you didn’t ask but I’ll tell you anyway. I’ve been writing creative fiction and nonfiction for about 10 years now. That includes 10 years of workshops, extension classes at a local university as well as near death experiences at the hands of writing groups. Geez.
Then, about a year ago I attended an Amherst Writers and Artists workshop leaders training in Albuquerque and lo, there was light! All of the attendees got down to what I call authentic writing: filled with true voice, beautiful imagery and meaning. Next week I return to an Amherst Writers’ retreat to join 25 folks to write, learn and enjoy. Be sure to follow upcoming posts where I’ll be sharing my experience. I will also be presenting a workshop on ‘Clearing The Creative River’ based on the writings of Clarissa Pinkola Estes, Ph.D.
Writing. Is there anything like it in the world?
